DAY 2: 28 Apr 25: SIEM REAP DISCOVERY TOUR (L, D)
Take away breakfast at the hotel, if not please prepare some snacks with you on the way.
At 05:00 am, pick up to discover the sunrise an Angkor Wat and start your full day exploration to the Angkor archaeological park.

First, take a visit to the famous Angkor Wat Temple. Built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, Angkor Wat is constructed following the model of the temple mountain symbolising Mount Meru, the home of the gods. Inside the temple, the walls are covered with stone carvings and bas-reliefs depicting Hindu mythology and the wars Suryavarman II fought during his reign.

Angkor Wat is well known for the more than 2,000 Apsara dancers decorating the temple. Construction is thought to have taken around thirty years of intensive labour. Today, Angkor Wat is featured on Cambodia’s national flag as the temple symbolises the soul of the Khmer people.
Continue the tour to a small circuit the most famous among these is Ta Prohm Temple. This is the jungle overgrown temple which has been featured in several Hollywood movies such as Tomb Raider, Indiana Jones. The large fig trees have merged with the ancient stones and have been left untouched by conservationists. It is truly an awe-inspiring site to see how the vegetation keeps the temple walls “glued” together.
At 12:30 Lunch in a local restaurant.
Continue to Bayon Temple in the exact centre of the city.

This 12th century masterpiece is a study in grandeur and is well-known for its fifty-four towers with enigmatic faces representing the fifty-four provinces of the Great Khmer Empire. The Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King are also must-visits as they are both known for their intricate bas-reliefs.
After the visit, depart to Ta Som, Ta Som’s two outer entrance gopuras are good examples of well-preserved towers that represent Avalokiteshvara (bodhisattva of compassion); with its tower structure enveloped by a large Ficus tree, it is easy to understand how nature and buildings can be difficult to separate throughout the Ankor Archaeological Park. Each Angkor temple has a different character, and Ta Som’s smaller scale and beautiful sculpture ensure that visitors who seek it out will be treated to another piece of Angkor’s history and artistic treasures.
Close to Ta Som, Near Pean built by Jayavarman VII towards the end of the 12th century, the Neak Pean Temple was dedicated to the Buddhist religion. It was thus dedicated to Lokeshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion.
However, according to Hindu believers, the layout of each pool was arranged according to an ancient Hindu belief. The four pools represented water, earth, fire, and wind. By simply bathing in them, they believed that the waters had medicinal properties and could thus alleviate their problems. As a result, the temple was considered a public hospital from the very beginning. Long overgrown by jungle, the Neak Pean Temple was cleared in the 1920s. Following this, it was restored in the 1930s Today, the temple pools remain mostly dry. However, they flood during the rainy season.
More than a temple, Preah Khan was actually a real city, extending over 56 hectares within its dikes. An university was also located in this temple of Preah Khan, which was dedicated to the father of Jayavarman VII. Today, it is very pleasant to wander through the galleries of this labyrinthine temple, the bas-reliefs as well as the colour of the stone being more magnificent.
At 18:30, you will be picked up for dinner at Kanell Restaurant. Kanell offers a beautiful Apsara
theater to enjoy a unique and traditional dance show including Praying Mantis Dance, the Peacock of Pailine Dance, the Bokator Fighting Preparation ceremony and Apsara dance show in Siem Reap. Alongside the stunning performance, you’ll also have a delicious set menu which also features traditional Cambodian cuisine.
Overnight in Shintana Saya La Maison hotel.
DAY 3: 29 Apr 25: SIEM REAP – BENG MEALEA – TONLE SAP (B, L)
Breakfast at the hotel.
At 07:30am, drive to Beng Mealea, far and away Angkor’s most atmospheric temple. Hidden by jungle for centuries, the sprawling temple still is partly covered by branches and roots. On a wooden pathway, walk through nature and discover this harmonious blend of nature and architecture.
Explore the temple’s carvings through moss-covered arches and inner chambers. Look up, you may see bats hiding inside the temple.
Escape from Siem Reap to see the beauty of the countryside. Drive to the shores of the Tonle Sap Lake, approximately 55 km from the city, and climb aboard a wooden motorboat to explore its waters and mangrove forests. This unique lake swells and contracts dramatically in rhythm with the monsoon season, meaning most of the houses are built on stilts or floating pontoons.
Cruise through the Kompong Khleang floating village and see this unique way of living. Have lunch at Tonle Sap Floating Restaurant and watch the boats pass by while enjoying a packed lunch.
Notes: During the months Apr-Sep the water level may be too low for a visit by boat. However, the village can be visited by car.
It is fascinating to walk around and see how the stilted houses are exposed from the lake when water levels are low!)
After this adventurous day on the lake and in the jungle, return to Siem Reap.
