Famous for its well-preserved Ancient Town, the seaside city of Hoi An is also known for the delicious cuisine that reflects its historical status as a melting pot of many different cultures.

Eat as the locals eat and see what the locals see on a food-focused walking tour through the streets of Hoi An.

    Tour Itinerary

Let your knowledgeable local guide know what your preferences are or follow the itinerary to ensure you sample the best that Hoi An has to offer.  Some food you might try on the way include café sữa dá (Vietnamese milk iced coffee), Bánh Xèo (rice pancake), …

Bánh xèo is widely eaten around south and central Vietnam. It does not fill up you somehow, it just gives a taste of five flavours in cooking.

Watching the crispy crepe being assembled is an audio-visual experience: the batter crackles loudly when it hits the hot pan—xèo meaning sizzling—and the edges gradually curl and golden as the skilled xèo maker deftly swirls the pan to evenly spread out the dense batter.

Next, you would try banh uot thịt nướng (Vietnamese grilled pork tenderloin). A cold beer will be a nice combination with it, don’t you think so?

Banh Uot Thit Nuong, a delectable dish of grilled pork wrapped in steamed rice sheets and dried rice paper, is a unique culinary treasure among Hoi An’s street food offerings. While variations of this dish can be found throughout Vietnam, the version found in Hoi An is truly distinctive, thanks to its exceptional dipping sauce….

Then, Hoi An Chicken Rice or cơm gà would be a lovely dish to try. It is a distinguished example of the local culinary art with simple ingredients and preparation. The dish has conquered numerous diners coming to the ancient town. Here a sugar cane juice sounds so lovely too right?

Hoi An chicken rice is said to be brought to Hoi An by Chinese traders in the feudal age. Since then, this dish has been popular in Central Vietnam, especially in Tam Ky, Quang Nam, where high-quality chicken is raised. In the past, the dish was served by street vendors, who travelled around the town. Gradually, the dish has been served in big restaurants also.

If you could eat some more, let’s go for bánh bèo (water fern cake), Cao lau, and the best sweet dessert in Vietnam.

    End of service.
